Today, after nearly two years of development, we are officially releasing the new version of MailPoet. Not only is it new and improved, but it also comes with a free plan to send unlimited emails to up to 1,000 subscribers and includes all the Premium features.
That’s right – MailPoet now offers an (optional) email sending service. This solves our users’ most common issue: emails going to the spam box, not the inbox. Intrigued? You can sign up to the sending service from directly within your MailPoet 3 plugin or on our website.
This two-minute video gives a good overview of the new plugin:
Great features at great value
What’s new in MailPoet 3? Well, pretty much everything. The user experience has been redesigned and simplified. At its core, the new plugin is a new step forward and a clear break from the past.
Our paid plans starts at just $8/month, meaning that we’re more accessible than ever.
The new plugin is available on the WordPress Repository and is a separate plugin to our previous (MailPoet 2) version. What will happen to the old version of MailPoet? Check out our FAQ on the topic.
The experience leaps forward
MailPoet strikes the ideal balance between simplicity and power. This is what made us the most popular email plugin in WordPress, after all. Rest assured, we won’t be changing this philosophy any time soon!
At the center of the MailPoet user experience is our new email designer. Back in 2011, MailPoet was the first to bring a drag-and-drop email designer to WordPress. Yet again, our new designer sets a new standard in simplicity and inclusiveness. We avoided adding too many options, in order to maintain the ease-of-use that our users have come to expect.
As you would expect, the designer offers a variety of widgets: WordPress posts, images, buttons, dividers, headers and footers. Layouts can be 1, 2 or 3 columns wide.
Plus, all of our templates are now free. They offer a variety of designs to help inspire you, our users. Naturally, all templates are completely responsive and display perfectly across all mobile devices.
A familiar interface
MailPoet is a production tool for many of our users. It is used every month, every week, or even every day by thousands of people around the world. With this in mind, we made sure that the user interface was extremely fast and intuitive to use.
Although the plugin has been rebuilt from the ground up, we haven’t totally broken away from the previous version of MailPoet. Previous users will find the switch natural.
Finally, we lowered the number of options in the Settings panel, to cut down initial configuration time and get you sending as quickly as possible.
Now delivering: Your emails
We are now offering our own sending service. It’s completely optional and you can still send with your own website, SMTP server, or third-party sender, if you so choose.
Why did we build our own sending service? Over a third of our users have experienced issues with delivering their emails to their subscribers’ inboxes. To put it simply, the science of deliverability is complicated. Fraught with ancient technologies, confusing terminology, and a steep learning curve, it isn’t for the weekend warriors.
Chances are, you probably don’t have time to understand any of this. You have businesses to run, projects to complete, and content to deliver to your subscribers.
The speciality of the house
We built our own sending infrastructure in-house in order to own the entire process, from beginning to end. We manage our own sending reputation with some of the best consultants in the industry – without ever relying on a third party’s infrastructure. This means we have a 98% successful delivery rate (one of the highest in the industry!) that we monitor and maintain daily.
Our technology enables big senders to reach sending speeds of 50,000 emails per hour. Quite an achievement in terms of performance, if we say so ourselves!

More features for free + affordable prices
Did you know that nearly 98% of our users use MailPoet for free? The new MailPoet continues this tradition of offering a great plugin completely for free.
Starting today, we’re offering a plan to send unlimited emails to up to 1,000 subscribers for free, no strings attached. We’re thrilled to offer it for free, as it will benefit the overwhelming majority of our users. As we mentioned above, we’ve created a comparison table of sending methods to help you understand the benefits of sending with us.
Users can sign up directly from the MailPoet > Settings page. It only takes a few minutes and requires no configuration other than entering a single key code.
Our offering now includes monthly packages that start at $10.00 per month (for up to 500 subscribers). This Business plan includes advanced features and the MailPoet Sending Service.
If you’re not interested in the sending service, that’s okay too. Not a problem. The Creator plan has been designed with you in mind. Get access to all of MailPoet’s advanced functionality and use your preferred sending method from $8.00 per month (for up to 500 subscribers – plans scale according to list size).
What will happen to the old MailPoet?
March 2022 update: The MailPoet 2 plugin will be retired on July 31, 2022.
It’s here to stay. It’s still available on the WordPress plugin repository and we will continue to provide support for Premium customers. All licenses for the old MailPoet will automatically extend to the new version.
